The March for Science is a celebration of our passion for science and a call to support and safeguard the scientific community. Recent policy changes have caused heightened worry among scientists, and the incredible and immediate outpouring of support has made clear that these concerns are also shared by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The mis-characterization of science as a partisan issue, which has given policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter. We are a satellite of the march in Washington
This is an opportunity for anyone and everyone who supports scientific research and evidence-based policies to be heard.
The Asheville March for Science team is currently working on obtaining a permit. To do this, we will need to raise a substantial amount of funds. If you are financially willing to donate to our cause, every dollar will work towards securing this permit so that our collective voices will be heard. Any extra funds raised will be used for science education in Buncombe County. Our fiscal sponsor is Asheville Greenworks. If you wish to mail a check please make it out to them with Asheville March for Science in the memo line. The address to mail a check is 2 Sulphur Springs Rd, Asheville, NC 28806.
